Aviators and adventurers Kate and Karoliina successfully flew the Diamond DA40 first two times across the USA visiting St. Louis, Palo Alto and Oshkosh (Airventure 2009) during the trip and then over Atlantic ocean to from USA to Finland during late summer 2009 completing the 8990 nautical mile route (over 16631 kilometers) with this small aircraft. The plane was standard equipped G1000 model without additional ferry tanks.
